Held on the beautiful banks of the Ohio River at English Park in Ownesboro, KY, the 17th annual Yellowbanks Dulcimer Festival will feature free concerts on Friday and Saturday evenings, and free workshops Friday afternoon and all day Saturday. Performers and workshop leaders include Atwater & Donnelly, Kara Barnard, Peggy Carter, Bing Futch, Jeff Hames, and Gary Sager. Mountain and hammered dulcimer, guitar, banjo, bodhran, autoharp, mandolin, fiddle, bowed psaltery, harmonica, penny whistle, rhythm instruments and clogging will all be taught at levels from beginner through advanced. Enjoy concerts and workshops in a beautiful, natural setting beneath ancient oaks, complete with a babbling brook and serene fishing ponds. Artists include: Cathy Barton and Dave Para, Gordon Bok and Carol Rohl, Bryan Bowers, Greg Ferguson, Ken Kolodner, Dan Landrum, Rick Thum and Susan Trump, Steve Endsley, Sherri Farley Band, Diane Ippel with Rob Williams, Bill Robinson and Friends, Skip Sittig, Anna Stange, JoAnn Surber and more! Formerly The Great River Road Festival, the Gateway Dulcimer Music Festival will feature beginner to advanced classes in mountain and hammered dulcimer, fiddle, autoharp, guitar and banjo.
